Professor Muhammed Shafiuddin Khan will be visiting PNW from Pakistan to discuss “Resisting Sexism and Militarism in Pakistan Today”. Pakistan today has a complex mix of economic, political, and cultural interests. The struggle for respect for women’s rights, for ethnic and religious harmony, for the rights of the poor and against the dangerous forces of war remains a crucial task for all.
The Visiting Scholar Lecture will take place on Wednesday, November 14th, 2018 at 11 am – 12:15 pm in Gyte 103.
Dr. Khan has degrees in Economics and Literature and has been involved in community activism for democracy, women’s rights, and workers’ rights for many years from campus organizing to disaster relief.
